"The next step in advertising."
Video
advertisements are traditionally broadcast on television via a
one-way communication model; however many corporations and consumers
alike are becoming aware of the advantages of new digital media
platforms. The Internet has allowed companies, advertisers, and public(s) to engage in de-hierarchised, open communication.
Access
Video Advertisements (AVA) is a project designed to make use of
the advantages the Internet. Inspired by what is believed to be the next step in the
evolution of video advertising, AVA aims to allow for a more
affordable and accessible platform for advertisers to display their
work and for companies to advertise their products. With features like
Members Only and video/text response, AVA hopes to shorten the bridge and allow for more communication between the two.
This
project consists of a mock-up of the website which contains key pages and AVA’s video advertisement. The video
advertisement, which runs on the home page, displays the evolution of
television advertisements from the 50s to the present: from the hard
selling strong male voice over to the subtle style of contemporary society. The video advertisement puts into visual
perspective why we believe AVA will be the future of video advertising.

(Note to wider public - these comments should be taken in the context of this being a university class exercise! These RMIT projects are very sophisticated, and we welcome much simpler and entirely amateur contributions to Gene Pool too!).
Hi team (Rodi, Daphne, Dawn),
Lots to this project, and the idea of using the project in your 3rd year to develop a company proposal is really strategic! Good one!
The vid is nicely edited, tight production and *funny*! I know you were being totally ironic with the footage - by mocking old-style ads to demonstrate new, better possibilities - but I wonder if it promotes the full potential of the website to likely clients there on the prime real estate of the front page?
Would have liked to see just a bit more functionality with the website elements, even in its prototype demo form- just to get a sense of how it might work as a user etc.
Interesting glimpsing at the behind the scenes process in your individual blogs, thanks for sharing those!
Interesting idea for the advertising sector to explore...perhaps you'll take it further?
Thanks again for adding to the Gene Pool. Good luck with your next projects.

Thanks Natasha!
Sorry for the late reply.
We had a lot of fun researching how video advertising has evolved and it was so hard to choose which eras to portray in the ad for AVA! In the end we went with the three we found were the most recognizable. We hope you enjoy the website! The idea of the company AVA was the crux of our project, so the website is only a prototype of what we imagined it becoming :)
Best regards,
The AVA team.
