    Thank you for these comments

Thank you for these comments ... I am completely new to this POOL world and so when prompted for copyright status I opted for the most conservative option.

How does this work? Do folks take a version of someones song, then mash it with other media and so forth then have the right to copyright that as a unique composition?

Obviously I don't own the copyright for the tune Waltzing Matilda, it belongs to an American Company believe it or not (long story).

If someone can advise on the specificity of sharing material in the POOL and beyond I would feel more comfortable about this.

    Many thanks

    Hi David,

You can find a very good overview of the rights / licensing system we use on Pool in our help section. You can follow the direct link below. That should hopefully answer a few of your questions.

    Hi David,

I am preparing an audio piece on Waltzing Matilda and got a bit naughty and ripped the audio from your quicktime movie. I then went to check on your copyright licence - cos I want to do the right thing and check that i *could* rip it, and then use it - and was surprised to see that it's "All Rights Reserved."

It's great that you are posting your work on a site like Pool, and it would be even greater still if you could free up the copyright license for use by Pool members.

I was *really* looking forward to using your music in the introduction of my piece.

Nevermind. I don't want to put you off contributing your work to such a great site like Pool by being pushy. But i secretly hope you change your mind :)

    Cheers
    Jane

Thank you for your good words here, much appreciated.

There is a recorded version of this tune on my 3rd album 'Knuckled Brass and Bone', it should be on file as Lucky Oceans featured it back in 2006/7 on the planet? Will be listening on Feb 14th to the show. All the very best, Dave

This is a beautifully gentle and soulful version of Waltzing Matilda.

Thank you for sharing it with us all. It's lovely.

PS If you'd like to share the audio as a separate track upload, that would be great!

I'd like to try using it with some other audio for the Waltzing Matilda callout.
