Video: 'Transit of Venus' Canowindra NSW
'Transit of Venus' is a physical and journey through the historic main street of Canowindra (Gaskill St). The transit takes us beyond the boundries of Canowindra into the lonely, quiet unknown and unreadable signposted road; back to the blue light of the womb (the television static).
'Transit of Venus' was filmed just on dusk as light faded. The town is almost empty and void of human existance but is inhabited with hints of life and moving shadows.
The journey is overstated by its slow motion. Distorted rythmic sound denotes the lurching, cumbersum and moving image.
Observing ones journey is not always clear. It is sometimes difficult to comprehend what is offered in a constructed world, and our place in that world. Shining lights guide us as we Transit Venus. Life and hopefully beauty will consume our existence as we approach our final destination.
Thankyou for viewing my work.

Lovely work, I really liked the sense of floating through the street that was enhanced by the music. But somehow I also felt a sense of menace, perhaps it was because the streets were so empty.
