A bit about me…

What’s your favourite music? Why does a single song or piece of music mean more to you than any other? What is so special about a particular melody, rhythm or riff, or the sound of a vocalist’s voice?

These are questions the Local Portraits program from Into The Music put to residents of the rural town of Robertson, and the city suburb of Liverpool.

Pool is asking you the same questions.

Create a local portrait of yourself, or someone you know. Use video, text, audio or still image.

Listen to how people in the Local Portraits broadcast describe their favourite music by clicking on the pictures to the left. You'll hear Jasper talk about Kylie Minogue,
Anthony talk about 'Like a Rolling Stone', and Tresa talk about No Doubt's 'Sunday Morning'.

How do I upload my Local Portrait?

If you're not a member of Pool you’ll need to register here.

Then click on the juicy blue upload button, or go here.

When you upload, tag your piece local portraits so others can find your work easily.

Can I use music in my piece?

Only if you own the copyright, or have the owner’s permission. For example, listen to Cec Cross's piece - he wrote and played the music himself.

If your favourite piece of music isn't something you've written, simply explain the music in words. Listen to Jasper,
Anthony, and Tresa for inspiration.

The best postings will be highlighted on the Pool home page and Radio National’s Local Portraits site.
