WELCOME TO THE ISOLATION TANK is a 90-minute radiophonic remix on the theme of ‘isolation’.

The program was commissioned by ABC Radio National’s The Night Air and produced by RMIT Media students as part of the third year course, Production Project 2 - Radio Active Space studio. The project was co-supervised by Kyla Brettle and John Jacobs with executive producer, Sharon Davis.

Students were asked to research and analyse The Night Airsound and then gather and pool together source materials for the isolation remix. A starting point for this collection was the STAND ALONE documentary series.

After individually producing 5-minute radiophonic sketches, students collaborated in clusters of four to combine their work into half-hour section of The Night Airepisode.

The 5-minute sketch IN GUISE was showcased on The Night Air, 23.9.08. The group work, WELCOME TO THE ISOLATION TANK will be broadcast on The Night Air, 30.11.08
