Text: STAND ALONE documentary series
Text
STAND ALONE is a series of short documentaries exploring issues of isolation from gaming addiction to insomnia and lost stories.
The feature series was produced by RMIT Media Students for Radio Active Space as part of the third year course, Production Project 2.
Students were asked to research, develop and produce a 10-20 minute program relevant to the theme of 'isolation' and also suitable for broadcast on ABC Radio National.
The student production INTO THE NIGHT was picked up by ABC Radio National and will be broadcast Radio Eye in 2009.
The STAND ALONE documentaries became source materials for the sister project, WELCOME TO THE ISOLATION TANK – a radiophonic remix for The Night Air.
by Tom Arthurson and Luke Troynar

They collect like bugs on a screen…” INTO THE NIGHT is an experimental sound adventure which explores the life of Mandy, a diagnosed insomniac who is forced to witness the world as it exists in the soft illumination of the morning.
