Text: Horror writer killed in freak zombie attack
The Australian horror writing community is in shock after zombie expert Rob Hood was torn apart by undead freaks.
The award-winning Hood, 58, was recording promotional material for BrokenSea Audio Productions' Zombie Cheerleaders 2: Pom-Poms of Death.
A police spokesperson said they believed 'multiple assailants' were involved in the attack, and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
In the audio, which has been posted on ABC Pool's The Dead Walk group, Hood can be heard screaming: "They're using real zombies!"
BrokenSea Audio Productions has refused to comment on the incident.
A former BrokenSea Audio Production employee, who did not wish to be named, said the group had previously tried to purchase zombies on the blackmarket, in contravention of the 1983 Zombie Act.
The Federal Government's Zombie Minister, Dario Argento, said he was not aware of any breaches of the Act, but any relevant information should be passed onto the appropriate authorities.
Hood, winner of several Australian horror awards, was working on zombie novel Dead Matter at the time of his death.
