Hope 2010

In 2010 I hope the world is a calmer and fairer place. I consider myself fortunate to have been born in Australia. It seems churlish to consider my own hopes when I compare my high standard of living to the misery that so many others endure.

But we all need hope. Hope helps me to get up each day when I would rather not. I hope that my weariness and doubt will fade as I go through the day. Most days, I will experience something that reminds me why it is worth getting up and going in to the world. Hope builds upon hope and the process continues.

In 2010 I hope to study again, eleven years after finishing my first degree. I hope to face this challenge bravely. I hope to continue writing and contributing to Pool.
