Text: Crying Souls
Lurking, lurking mist creeping round headstones
Moistened soil covering decaying bones
Lurking, lurking mist.
Swirling, swirling through grasses and crosses
Zephyrs brush across thickly green mosses
Swirling, swirling zephyrs.
Hanging, hanging moist vines draping from trees
Rhythmic swaying with the flowing gentle breeze
Hanging, hanging vines.
Chiming, chiming town clock striking midnight
Eeriness overcomes this old graveyard site
Chiming, chiming, striking
Rising, rising souls their nightly journey
Trapped within for their eternity
Rising, rising souls.
Glowing, glowing contorted bodies seen
Silver moonlight enhances gothic scene
Glowing, glowing bodies.
Floating, floating ghostly figures that cry
Skeletal, decaying flesh, sunken eyes
Floating, floating ghosts.
Screaming, screaming voices reliving pain
Blood upon blood washed away with rain
Screaming, screaming voices.
Returning, returning toward their grave
Forever they will remain Satan’s slave
Returning to Satan.
Approaching, approaching dawn brings forth life
Serenity instead of ghoulish strife
Approaching of the dawn.

Thanks mates, a couple of young blokes who used to work next door asked if I could write them something they could read to a group of their friends around a table, in a dark room with a single lit candle in the centre of the table, apparently it was a great hit with all involved.

How transparent,
The transmigration of souls in the capable hands of David.
Hey Andrew, you really got to love this pooly, ghouly stuff.
