Text: A Poem of Hope and Love - to all my Poolie mates
HOPE AND LOVE...
(I had to create a love poem instead of a love song because I can neither sing in tune nor compose music).
...
I love you,
all my cyber friends,
That I have
met this year.
I sit here
at any time of day
And know
that you are near.
...
I can talk
while wearing trackie dacks,
Or my swimming suit.
I can chat
while drinking coffee
Or eating a
plate of fruit
(The
strawberries are great this year).
...
You don’t
know if I rush away
Or if I
loudly munch.
You don’t
care if I’m busy
And can’t have
you in to lunch.
...
I LOVE YOU,
ALL MY POOLIE FRIENDS
You’ve been
funny, you’ve been kind.
3W saw that
the hurdles in front
Are now left
way behind.
...
Peter has
so many great ideas
And his
bunyips are nobody’s fool(s)
(I think
they’re related to Goolie,
The famous
Ghoul of the Pool).
...
Whirledly whirled around my world
In a parallel
Universe
Our shared
experiences tweaked my soul
As we
finished each other’s verse.
...
Then magic
Robby J came onto the scene
And for
some reason, called me an ‘Art’;
Which is a
very strange thing to say
Because SHE
is a Science at heart.
...
The online
community was kept alert
By George,
GB, Rossco and Veronique
Each one is
multi-talented,
Each has a
creative streak unique.
...
Mcscraic
appeared with his Irish lilt,
Weaving
pictures from fragments of light;
And
although Betty is busy right now,
I’m sure
she’ll post more when the time is right.
...
The attentive
attendants, too many to name,
Have kept
the Pool swimmers alive
Although we
sometimes whined and complained,
THEY have
saved us: the project survived.
...
About those
hurdles I’m supposed to have cleared,
The ones
mentioned by W so dear.
The day
that there are no more hurdles to jump
Is the day
d. is no longer here!!!!!!!!
...
HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.
...
May your
‘wishes’ and ‘dreams’ turn to ‘hope’ in 2010 (without any crises or catharsis,
although renewal is sometimes nice).

What a tremendous response, lets hope the cyber-love keeps flowing into the new year and beyond. I'll try to catch up intermittently over the Xmas, please excuse if I'm sometimes AWOL.
ps. Don't you just love the new alternative front bench (I'll have to sort out my old BB files and start a new comic entitled Abbotts Army)

WWW - I love the way you define 'new' - I wouldn't have thought of that word at all!
Happy Holidays - and, as you say, beyond. Try to enjoy yourself, even if we cannot argue with you on such a regular basis. Don't worry about me, I am going to have PLENTY of people to argue with me!!!!

Great work, great sentiments d. you make two dimensional cyber space three dimensional.
Pool is like the particle accelerator in Cern. When our brains collide in the pool you never quite know what will happen, except that it will be exciting.
Enjoy your holiday season.

WOW Kerry, what a great observation .... your words and mental images just prove the point you make.
And if we end up with a black hole, as some fear, we will all be in it together so we won't even notice that the rest of the world has disappeared.
Cosy.

.... and just when I THINK I have the spacing 'sorted', it does its automatic thinking for me again and gives me the opposite problem to the one I have had in the past.
Never mind, it is readable.
For the references to comments on hurdles and bottle-brushes, see the lovely things WWW wrote to my other piece "twenty-ten vision" on this group. Thanks Wayne.
Love you all, Happy New Year.
