Today was a looooooooooooooong day. Seven and a half hours on the train.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere (I can't remember if it was before or after Mitchell) the train couldn't make it up a hill so we had to reverse back to get a run-up. Everyone looked a bit tense. I actually heard the engine saying "I think I can..."

We finally got into mulga country today, where the land looks so inhospitable that it's hard to believe there are farms there. I'd see the occasional sheep that looked like it was In Hell. Certainly terrifyingly beautiful countryside. I wouldn't want to have to carve a living out of it. Nice to see it while going past on a steam train though.

Charleville provided an awesome library crowd. A lovely way to finish the tour. I am ready to go home, and so is my boy.
