Technology, Arts and Social Connection (TASC) Scheme
The Technology, Arts and Social Connection (TASC) Scheme is an innovative new program that will support creative initiatives promoting participation, health and wellbeing through community engagement in the digital environment.
Social participation and social support are valuable resources for health, but unfortunately they are not evenly available across the population.
The digital revolution is impacting on every area of our daily lives. Our work, leisure time and even our means of communicating with friends and family are all changing in response to the ubiquity of computing and communication technologies. The emergence of social networking and of a convergence culture that enthusiastically embraces the potential of online and offline collaboration is transforming the manner in which we engage with technology.
As a setting for action it is readily apparent that advances in information communication technologies (ICT’s) are providing many new and exciting opportunities for increasing participation, especially amongst those who are often not even given a voice offline.
Through the TASC Scheme VicHealth will support projects that creatively utilise existing technologies to increase participation and social connectedness across Victoria.
Applications for funding close Monday 15 February 2010.
