Venice Biennale Online Schools Exhibition

A group show of your artwork exhibited at the Venice Biennale. We invite your school to contribute and be in the running to receive a unique artmaking experience and exhibition catalogue collection for your school library.
This call-out is open to all Australian primary and secondary schools to curate a group exhibition of student artwork. If you had the chance to exhibit your work at the Venice Biennale, what would you do, what would you want to share with the rest of the world?

Exhibitions due: 30th October 2009
Announcement of chosen proposal: 12th November 2009
What to do?
1. Students to curate an exhibition of up to five students’ artwork (one artwork each)
2. Give the exhibition a name
3. Write a curatorial statement about the theme of the exhibition*
4. List the names of the artists and artworks & why they has been included
5. Upload proposal and images/sound/video to Pool.org (see below for instructions)
6. Use the Pool.org blog to leave comments and feedback about each school exhibition.
This is a chance to show the rest of Australia who you are, what you're interested in, and your art! You might also like to install the exhibition at school and have an opening night party!
Announcement of chosen proposal:
In addition to the national exposure of your artwork through Pool, one
school will be chosen by the Venice Biennale Education Team to receive:
- a Venice Biennale back catalogue collection for their school library
- and an exclusive workshop and artmaking experience at their school with celebrated arts educator, Dr Margaret Baguley, Chair of the Australia Council’s 2009 Venice Biennale Art Education K-12 Resource.

Get uploading:
1. Join Pool and create a profile of your school.
2. Upload your curatorial statement and the artworks to the Venice Biennale group page
3. Licence all your contributions as Creative Commons attribution non-commercial.

Conditions:
This call-out is open to all Australian primary and secondary schools
• Stick to 1000 words in total
• One proposal per school
