Project: Live Local
How do you Live Local? Share your stories of living local to be part of a special Live Local feature to be broadcast on Radio National's 360 early next year.
Where do you go when you need a cup of sugar? Do you know the people next door, in your street, in your community? What about the food on your plate - what kind of journey has it been on to get there? What if you were to live local? Or if you already do, what does it all mean? Living local is thinking about how you interact with the people around you, and how your daily living choices impact on the environment.
Inspired by the Live Local project, radio feature maker Anna Burns explored these questions in the recent Radio National 360 broadcast, 'Living Local'. But there’s just too much to explore in only 20 minutes of radio, so now we need your help to tell the whole story.
We invite you to share your stories of living local and to be part of a special Live Local feature to be broadcast on 360 early next year. Contributions can come in any form, for example fiction, documentary, memoir, soundscape, oral history or vox pops. You can upload your contributions as text, audio, photos & video.
Getting started:
For some food for thought, listen to Anna’s feature and read this great piece about a day spent making jam. Also have a listen to Radio National's Life Matters story about the humble veggie patch.
Join the live local group to share stories, comment on others’, chat in the forum or to simply follow what other people are contributing.
To upload your work, first join the group and then choose any of the upload options in the right hand side of the group page.
Keep audio / video contributions to under 7 minutes, and text to under 1500 words.
Key dates:
Entries are open until the end of February.
The 360 Live Local broadcast will be on air soon after (date to be confirmed).
