Project: Antarctic Meltdown
Antarctica is a uniquely post-colonial commons, a demilitarised zone and a site of rapid eco-change. It's an ideal focus for collectively rethinking our approach to the planet and what we hold in common.
So with Pool’s Antarctic Meltdown project we're pooling polar sounds and images, melting them down to make cool new things.
To kick off the collection DJ Spooky is sharing some of his material with the Pool community. He went south to gather images and sound recordings and has included them in his performance Terra Nova Sinfonia Antarctica at the 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival.
Spooky's polar pool is here.
The audio sub-mixes and video building blocks are all released under Creative Commons licenses which allow remix by attribution.
If you make something cool or hot you might like to share it back into the Pool.
