How do you live local?

Blog: How do you live local?

How do you connect with your place? Share your experiences of living local, and help co-create a Live Local feature for Radio National's 360 program.

Anna Burns lived within two kilometres of her inner city home for a month. No, she wasn’t on an expanded form of house arrest, but taking the Live Local challenge! It was a way for her to embrace her local community, and you can hear all about it on Saturday (24.10.09) at 2pm on 360 on Radio National.

Living Local is part of a growing push towards reconnection, with our communities, our environment, and even our food. Anna looks into what it means to live local in Radio National’s broadcast, but there is simply too much to explore in 20 minutes!

That is where you come in...

Whether it’s having a street party, or making an effort to smile at people you walk past on your way to work, we want your stories about living local. Join the Live Local group here, and make your contributions through photos, videos, audio, poems, drawings, memoirs, interviews or documentaries.

Check out the Live Local initiatives over here to get some inspiration. Create a community garden, or say no to disposable coffee cups for a month and let us know how it goes.

The conversations and connections sparked by your stories will help us to all live local together.
