Jim Denley’s audio recording
Alone at Undara is full of breath and physicality. Jim’s own breath weaves in and out of the visceral buzzing of insects, a muffled heartbeat fading in and out as if recorded as a byproduct of holding a microphone too tight .
There are scrapings and rustlings – deeply organic sounds. Any synthesised sounds here feel as if they’re generated, or germinated from the organic. Bees that sound like voices, or voices like bees.
