My Street surges forward

Blog: My Street surges forward

Street Stories is asking you to tell the story of your street, in an exciting project called My Street. Share the stories behind your street with the Pool community to win the chance to work with ABC Radio National and have your own work broadcast on Street Stories!

The My Street project on Pool keeps getting bigger and bigger! We’ve been blown away by the unique stories hiding in the streets of the Pool community.

Some stories have recently been compiled into a My Street Sampler that has been played on Street Stories, a program on ABC’s Radio National. You can listen to this program here.

You can tell the story of your street, whether it is about shopping trolley thieves or living in a modern squat and upload it to the My Street category on Pool.

People from all around Australia have been uploading their homegrown stories in audio, video, image and text based formats.

If one of the projects uploaded to the My Street category tickles your fancy, why not remix it? Remember it has to have a CC-BY-NC licence for you to remix, reuse or repurpose it.

We’ve made a remix called Letterbox on My Street that lets you be the DJ and make your own larger story out of smaller ones already created.

You can be involved in My Street by uploading and remixing stories and also commenting on work other users have uploaded. You can find out more at the official ABC My Street website.
