Audio: When the Rains Came

I thought this music from from the early nineties might be of interest to some people.
Composed for Yamaha TG 33 Synthesiser module using a MIDI sequencer program called Notator on an Atari computer I should mention that I had immense difficulty at that time getting recordings onto tape without distortion.
I hope the listener is prepared to put up with this fault (which does not seem major to me in the listening, I mention it only because it is technically relevant)

However the point of bringing back this music is that it might have something to say to today's listener.
He/she will get an idea of how environmental concerns reaching 'crisis' point today and demanding decisive action very soon, could be perceived as distant and horizonal, but nevertheless substantial and pressing in a certain sense,  a while ago.
And yet there could be a sort of optimism embedded in this perception of distance and horizons that I remember from the time when this piece was made and which we well might remember now

For the need is after all to not to be blind to 'the wood' for the 'trees'...... and this applies also in this remembering which I am trying to facilitate  by releasing this music now
