This is Not Art is the alterna-tentacled experimental arts festival, run annually over the October long weekend in Newcastle NSW.

This episode of ABC Radio National's Night Air program is a journey into art and the imagination. We'll be riding on waves of sound emanating from pic chips, solenoids, bamboo and vocal chords as heard live at festival gigs and performances.

Our guide is the outspoken libertarian and imagineer Frank Moorhouse. We'll be hearing excerpts from his National Young Writer's Festival keynote address. "The 21st century imagination"
